Pendennis Castle
This ancient site is always top of the list. A visit to Pendennis Castle is enjoyable for adults and children of all ages.
Take a tour of the castle, visit the First World War exhibition, explore the Discovery Centre and the Castle Keep. Then enjoy a bite to eat in the Castle Cafe and soak up the fantastic views across the Falmouth headland and out to sea.
National Maritime Museum Falmouth
A must-see for all visitors to Falmouth. Falmouth’s National Maritime Museum is an award-winning visitor attraction set in fifteen galleries over five floors.
A year-round programme of events includes talks, hands-on activities and lectures. This year visitors can enjoy the Viking Voyagers exhibition.
Falmouth’s scenic route
If you drive into Falmouth, make sure you take a few minutes to enjoy the sweeping ‘scenic route’ from Falmouth town to Gyllyngvase beach.
As you approach Falmouth, continue straight on towards Pendennis Castle and follow signs for the ‘Scenic Route’. Stop at the top or at Pendennis Point to enjoy breathtaking views across Falmouth Harbour and out to sea.
Walk the SW Coast path
The coast path around Falmouth is well worth an explore. Lace up your walking boots, pack some sustenance, grab the kids (and the dog) and see Cornwall from a new angle.
This five mile walk around Pendennis Point takes in three Falmouth beaches and some wonderful views across to the Roseland Peninsula.

St Mawes Ferry
If the weather is fair, take one of Cornwall’s iconic boat trips from Falmouth to St Mawes. The St Mawes Ferry runs all year, seven days a week with a regular service in the summer.
The journey takes 20 minutes – which is just enough time to take in the sights of Pendennis Castle, St Mawes Castle, wave at other sailors and kayakers and hunt for marine life.

Flicka Foundation – Donkey Sanctuary
A quick trip to the Flicka Foundation should be on the list for fans of four legged friends.
This charitable organisation takes in horses, donkeys, sheep, pigs and many more to rehabilitate them and give them a happy home. Each animal has a different story and they happily open their doors to visitors all year round.
Princess Pavilion
Falmouth’s Princess Pavilion hosts live music, comedy and events throughout the year. This elegant venue can hold up to 600 people at their free events. Summer events include brass bands, live jazz evenings and rock n roll evenings. The Princess Pavilion is temporarily closed, but check for updates on their site later this year.
The Poly Theatre
A real gem in Falmouth’s crown, The Poly is a venue full of character and charm. Hosting films, theatre, comedy, music, exhibitions, talks and dance shows, The Poly’s events calendar is jam-packed with entertainment to suit all ages and interests.
Phoenix Cinema
Need something to do when it’s raining in Cornwall? Falmouth’s Phoenix Cinema is located close to Events Square.
Showing all the latest releases and blockbusters, as well as Event Cinema showcases including national ballets, theatre and opera on the big screen.
